Authorised Trend Micro Partner
Trend Micro Email Security protects against email-borne threats — phishing, business email compromise (BEC), ransomware attachments, fraudulent invoices, account takeover. Available as a cloud-app overlay for Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace, or as a standalone email gateway. Most Indian SMBs running M365 or Google Workspace get baseline email security from Microsoft Defender or Google's native filters. Trend Micro Email Security adds layered protection for higher-risk scenarios (BEC against finance/CXO inboxes, sandbox detonation of unknown attachments, internal email scanning for compromised-account spread). Through National IT Service you get INR billing, GST invoice, M365/Google API integration (typically 1-2 days deployment), policy tuning (whitelists/blacklists, BEC sensitivity, sandbox aggressiveness), and ongoing alert tuning.

Defender for O365 (especially Plan 2) provides solid baseline. Trend Micro adds: stronger BEC detection (Trend Micro's writing-style analysis catches BEC fraud Defender often misses), better sandbox technology (Virtual Analyzer with 10+ years of telemetry), and protection for non-Microsoft endpoints (Google Workspace, other email). For high-risk industries (BFSI, professional services, real estate), layered approach is justified. For low-risk SMBs, Defender is sufficient.
Trend Micro analyses email writing style (vocabulary, sentence structure, headers) and compares against historical patterns of the claimed sender. If a "CFO email" suddenly comes from an external domain or has writing patterns inconsistent with the real CFO, it flags as suspected BEC. Combined with sender reputation, header anomalies, and business context (e.g., suspicious payment requests), BEC detection rate is much higher than Defender baseline. Indian businesses losing crores to invoice fraud are the typical use case.
API-based: no MX record change, easier deployment, post-delivery scanning (threats detected after email lands but pulled before user opens). MX-based: in-line filtering (threats blocked before delivery), more visibility/control but bigger deployment effort (DNS change, mail flow rules). For most M365/Google deployments, API-based Cloud App Security is the practical choice. For high-control environments (BFSI), gateway-based is preferred.
Yes — this is a primary use case. We deploy with sensitivity tuned for finance team mailboxes (CXO, Finance Director, AP team). When a "vendor" email arrives with invoice + payment details, Trend Micro analyses: is the sender domain legitimate? Has this vendor changed payment details recently? Does the writing style match historical vendor emails? Indian businesses report 70-90% reduction in vendor email compromise post-deployment.
Critical threats: automatically quarantined or deleted. Suspicious threats: held for admin review (configurable). User-reported phishing: routed to admin queue. Through our managed service, we triage alerts on your behalf, escalate true positives to your IT team, and tune the policy weekly to reduce false positives.
Add layered email security to your M365 / Google Workspace in 1-2 weeks — stop BEC and invoice fraud cold.
